Today I put together a homemade snoot. A snoot is something that slides over your Speedlite and directs the light down the tube to your subject. I took a piece of thin cardboard that came out of a package of Fruit of the Loom t-shirts I bought, folded it around the Speedlite and used blue painter’s tape to tape it all together. This helps for portraits when you don’t want the whole face lit.

I had no one to practice on so I had to use myself. It’s not a great picture of me but I definitely love the snoot effect!
