the sports illustrated technique

Tonight I’m going to try and practice the Sports Illustrated technique. It’s where they make their skies really blue, almost cartoon-like. To do this, you put your white balance on Tungsten and you put a warming gel over your flash to warm up the subject. Hopefully I get it right tonight so I can have pictures to show!

milo obsessed

Milo is like the best subject to take photos of.  She makes the funniest faces!

She’s ferocious!

wooley’s car at hb speed… update

So this time I was on the ball!  Found a good enough backdrop and caught the sun at the perfect time!  Here they are:

Fisher is behind me while I took this picture.  She’s like, “What is the DOG doing in here?” ha ha

hb speed… again

Going over to HB Speed again today to take pictures of our friend Wooley’s car.  This time I’m going prepared.  I’m going to get there at 4, scout out a location in the area and get some shots in before the sun sets.  I’ll post pictures up tonight after I edit them.

My hip hop classes on Tuesday were so fun!  I love the girls in my kid’s class, they make me laugh the whole time!  And my adult class was at its biggest yet!  I had 6 people in class plus me!  The fact that people are coming back to class each week is making me happy.  That means I’m doing a good job!  My friend Song was there this week.  I think I’ve coerced her into coming next time.  She had a good time!

poor wittle subaru

Yesterday when I came out to my car after work, it was sandwiched between a Viper and a Ferrari. Not sure if my co-worker did that on purpose or if I was just parked in the way when he was moving cars, but it was funny, lol.

Tonight is my second Hip-Hop class! I am so excited about this! I had a tough time coming up with choreography this week but I think it will get easier. My main issue is making sure that it’s easy enough for the kids. I don’t want to do anything too hard that will make them not want to come anymore.

weekend’s over

Yesterday Travis and I went to Disneyland. I LOVE Disneyland! In fact, I make him go several times a year. You’d think we’d have passes but we don’t. We always have a great time. We kind of have a little routine, as soon as we get there, we go on Space Mountain. And then the last ride we go on is Space Mountain. Because of my back, I can get a “special assistance” pass and go through the exits to get on the rides. If it wasn’t for that little perk, I wouldn’t be able to go to theme parks at all! Standing for any amount of time is the most painful thing for my back. So standing in line for rides just isn’t feasible.

Today I went to a bride expo with a friend of mine is who getting married. I totally thought I was going to be overwhelmed by everything; brides running around, everyone handing out fliers and trying to get your information. But it wasn’t bad. It was exactly what I expected but it wasn’t bad. She on the other hand was a little stressed out. But with good reason. How do you know which florist/photographer/DJ to choose? Getting married is no easy task.

When I got back I was totally pooped out and closed my eyes for a while on the couch while Travis played Grand Theft Auto. But I woke up and wanted to take pictures. I feel like I haven’t shot anything for a while. These are pretty boring but I am trying out a new border and signature.
